Eye Doctor near Kingsland, TX

Located a short drive from Llano, Kingsland offers a majestic display of nature. Set along the Colorado River and Lake LBJ, this area of Llano County is filled with sparkling lakes, rushing rivers, and lush vineyards. We love providing clear and healthy vision for all of our Kingsland patients, so they can appreciate their awesome surroundings!

Helping You See The Sights of Kingsland

To spend a family day on the water, our optometry team recommends that you head to Granite Beach Waterpark. There is an activity for everyone here, including boat rentals, jet skis, and year-round, waterfront dining at Forno’s Bar and Grill. Coast along the shoreline to see some great architecture and docked boats. Don’t forget to look upwards every now and then to catch sight of a soaring Bald Eagle. After the striking sunset, couples who aren’t ready to return home can stay overnight in a romantic lakefront cottage rented from the Lake LBJ Yacht Club & Marina.

Restaurants and Food in Kingsland

At the end of your day by the lake, there are plenty of places to grab a bite. You can pick up some snacks, crispy fried chicken, and great souvenirs from beloved Buddies, located at the juncture of Hwy 1431 & Hwy 2900. Another favorite Kingsland diner is the Hoover’s Valley Café, known as a delicious relic of the area. To enjoy food and a stunning view, we love On The Rocks, an Italian eatery that sits atop the heights of a rocky cliff over Lake LBJ.

One of Kingsland’s most noteworthy sites is the Antlers Hotel. Built originally as a railroad resort in 1901, this building was neglected and left to deteriorate in the early 20th century. Yet in the 1990s, it was purchased and restored to its present glory as a historic, classy hotel. Housed within is the Grand Central Café Restaurant – a popular place to eat in style. Another neat fact that will thrill horror movie fans: the actual house from the legendary 1974 film, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, is on the same Kingsland property as Antlers Hotel.

When Kingsland locals are looking to relax, soak up the sun, and feel the spray of cool water on their face, they head to the Llano Slab. These granite boulders and slabs await you where the road crosses the Llano River. Another unique natural attraction is the Bluebonnet fields that blossom from March through May all around Kingsland. People journey from miles away to take family portraits in the middle of these magnificent flowers.
